Baku, January 28 AZERTAC). “Heydar Aliyev got information on the happenings not only from newspapers and TV. He brightly knew that in the USSR the mass media and television don`t cover fairly everything”, stated Yuri Solodukhin, former assistant to Heydar Aliyev, former First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR in 1982-1987s, who is visiting Azerbaijan on the invitation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Y. Solodukhin noted that he has been making reports to Heydar Aliyev every morning on coverage of the local and foreign press. Heydar Aliyev used to send his assistants to public places where the people were, to receive objective information. “Heydar Aliyev was very interested in welfare of masses. In contrast to others, he regularly watched “Vremya” program of news.
Justice was the major principle in Heydar Aliyev`s political activity, Solodukhin stressed.
