JUSTICE MINISTRIES OF AZERBAIJAN AND RUSSIA COOPERATE SUCCESSFULLY
As stated, between the Azerbaijan Republic and the Russian Federation is carried out huge work connected with transfer of the convicted for further serving of term of punishment, and this process goes ahead. Currently, to the Ministry of Justice of Russia was sent about 50 references with the request to direct to the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan necessary documents concerning the convicted, serving time in the form of imprisonment in territory of the Russian Federation, for consideration of the question on their extradition to the Republic. Alongside with it, to the Ministry of Justice of Russia were sent 47 decisions about receiving of the convicted, citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic, with the purpose of consideration of them by competent courts of the Russian Federation.
As is told, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is carried out on the basis of bilateral contracts On legal aid and legal relations on civil, family and criminal cases” from 1992, “On transfer of the convicted for serving punishment” from 1994 and “On exchange of the legal information” from 1994. Interaction on legal aid between two countries are adjusted also by “The Minsk Convention “On legal aid and legal relations on civil, family and criminal cases” from 1993 and the Moscow Convention “On transfer of the convicted for the further serving punishment” from 1998.
On the basis of all above-listed documents, the parties render each other legal aid, communicate and adjust legal relations between two states.
