Korea to increase investments in Azerbaijan’s enery sector
Baku, December 15 (AZERTAC). Korea plans to deeply expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, Korean Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Ji-ha told journalists on Tuesday.
"Korean companies are willing to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, in particular within the AGRI project (Azerbaijani gas supply to Europe), state program on development of renewable and alternative energy sources," Lee Ji-ha said. "And from next year we intend to increase investments in these spheres," he added.
According to the diplomat, currently Korean companies are actively cooperating with Azerbaijan in the sphere of restoration of transport infrastructure, water supply systems, as well as in the sphere of road construction in the country's regions.
He said since 2008 total volume of Korean investments in Azerbaijan's economy has amounted to $133 million.
"Next year this volume is expected to significantly increase," Lee Ji-ha said.
