Kowa-TMSUK reveal Kobot concept electric vehicle
Baku, December 12 (AZERTAC). With parking in Japan being difficult to find, the concept of a smaller vehicle makes sense. It would allow more cars to fit into more parking spaces, or allow these smaller vehicles to fit into spots that would have been otherwise difficult for a regular sized car. This concept has been visualized thanks to a joint venture between Kowa and TMUSK.
They have managed to churn out three prototypes so far - the Kobot v (Nu), Kobot β (beta) and two-seat Kobot II. The goal here for these electric vehicles is to help ease traffic congestion and provide tourists a more efficient way of getting around in environmentally sensitive sightseeing areas.
The Kobot is a new EV concept for navigating around cities and towns, developed by Kowa Tmsuk. There are three models in this prototype range, the single person vehicles ν (nyu) and β(beta), which with the push of a button from a smartphone can transform so that they can be parked securely in a compact space, and the π(pi) which can hold two people.
The Kobot is developed by Kowa Tmsuk, a new company formed by Kowa, a medical instrument manufacturer, and Tmsuk, a robot manufacturer. Kowa Tmsuk isn’t just developing vehicle hardware, they are also proposing new ways of using their technology for communal car sharing in urban areas.
This vehicle can be made compact, to save parking space. The new model was exhibited at Tokyo Motor Show 2011. Kowa-TMUSK has plans to start production of the Kobots in autumn of 2012.
