NATO SECRETARY GENERAL TO VISIT GEORGIA

Baku, September 25 (AZERTAC). NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, told Georgian journalists in New York on a sideline of UN General Assembly, that he would visit Tbilisi next week.

Situation in Georgia`s breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia was among the issues discussed during the NATO -Russia foreign ministerial meeting in New York on September 22 in the context of conventional arms control in Europe.

The Georgian Parliament ratified on September 14 an agreement between the Alliance and Georgia on opening of NATO liaison office in Tbilisi.
