Pakistani newspaper condemns murder of Azerbaijani child by Armenian sniper
Baku, March 20 (AZERTAC). Pakistani newspaper States News has published an article condemning the killing of an Azerbaijani child by an Armenian sniper.
The article, called Armenian terrorism, says: “Fariz Badalov, 9-year ancient Azerbaijani child was shot dead as a result of ceasefire violation by the occupying forces of Armenia. While playing outside his house the boy was wounded in the head when a sniper opened fire from the Armenian-occupied territory and died on the way to hospital.”
Author Zahida Aamir writes: “By drawing attention to this violent act, The Republic of Azerbaijan calls upon the international community to condemn the killing of civilians, in particular of children by the armed forces of Armenia. Through targeting innocent civilians and frequent ceasefire violations, Armenia undermines the peace process just a few days after the meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia in Sochi. Azerbaijan also condemn disrespect shown by the Armenian armed forces to the very basic principles of international law.”
“20% of Azerbaijani territories still remain under the occupation of armed forces of the Republic of Armenia. The occupation has made more than one million Azerbaijani people refugees and internally displaced persons.
After the open assertion by Armenia in the late 1980s of its territorial claims on Azerbaijan and the launching of armed operations in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenian terrorism became significantly more active and such well-known terrorist organizations as the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia, the Commandos of Justice of the Armenian Genocide and the Armenian Revolutionary Army transferred the centre of their activities from the Middle East, Western Europe and North America to the territory of the former USSR.”
“In all, as a result of terrorist acts against Azerbaijan carried out since the late 1980s by the Armenian secret service and Armenian terrorist organizations closely connected with it, including terrorist acts on road, rail, sea and air transport and ground communications, over 2,000 citizens of Azerbaijan have been killed, the majority of them women, the elderly and children,” the author says.
