Baku, August 24, AZERTAC
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the National Defense Ministry on Monday marked the 10th anniversary of Operation Euphrates Shield, commemorating the country's cross-border military campaign against ISIS (Daesh) and honoring its fallen soldiers and veterans, according to Anadolu Agency.
In a statement on Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Erdogan said: “On the anniversary of Operation Euphrates Shield, through which we demonstrated the strength of our heroic army to the entire world and declared to friends and foes alike that we would not tolerate terrorism, conflict and instability in our region, I commemorate our beloved martyrs with mercy and our heroic veterans with gratitude.”
The ministry further said: “On the 10th anniversary of Operation Euphrates Shield, in which we dealt a major blow to terrorist organizations in Syria, especially Daesh, we proudly salute our heroic Turkish Armed Forces, pray for Allah's mercy upon our martyrs, and wish our veterans healthy, happy and long lives.”
