Parliament elected to be engaged in legislature, not in history

Baku, January 25 (AZERTAC). Adoption of the bill of criminalization of negation of the Armenian “genocide” by the Senate of France was not met unambiguously in this country either.

Commenting the bill, Senator Jean Pierre Sueur said the bill was contradicting not only the Article 34 of the Constitution of France, but also the fundamental principles of the legal system of France. The bill restricts freedom of expression, and also impedes the historians to investigate the realities. The scholars will have to back official position, what is erroneous in assessing the historical evens. According to him, the parliament is elected to be engaged in legislature, not in historical past.
