PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF KIRGHIZSTAN ALMANBET MATUBRAIMOV
They pointed out the importance of establishment of Azerbaijan-Kirghizstan intergovernmental economic commission to promote increase in trade between the two countries, as well as exchanged information on the economic processes taking place in their countries.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the new Kirghiz leadership will strengthen its position, and the country will step on the path of development. He reminded that processes of development in Azerbaijan began after the country had overcome political and economic crisis of early 1990s.
Importance of intensification of the two countries’ intergovernmental and interparliamentary relations was also mentioned during the conversation.
Almanbet Matubraimov pointed to active involvement of Azerbaijanis living in Kirghizstan in socio-political life of the country.
He expressed regret over non-participation of Kirghiz leader Kurmanbek Bakiyev in the summit meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization, but passed on his invitation to President Ilham Aliyev to pay a visit to Bishkek.
