RUSSIA-AZERBAIJAN PHOTO EXHIBITION OPENS IN BAKU
Baku, January 23 (AZERTAC). A photo exhibition “Russia-Azerbaijan: 105 years in TASS photographs” has opened here at the Azerbaijan State Museum of Arts after R. Mustafayev.
A ceremony was attended by head of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, Chief of the Administration of the Russian President Sergey Naryshkin and participants of the first Azerbaijan-Russia forum on humanitarian cooperation.
Speaking at the meeting, Ramiz Mehdiyev stressed that human potential is the country`s real wealth rather than its mineral resources. He said, “it can be felt distinctly amid the world financial crisis”.
Ramiz Mehdiyev thanked the ITAR-TASS team and all those who was involved in organizing the exhibition.
“On one of photographs we can see a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in Ulyanovsk. This photo and the monument itself prove that we managed to keep the link between generations and times, notwithstanding all cataclysms of past years,” Mehdiyev said
Naryshkin hailed how well the exhibition was organized as part of the first Azerbaijan-Russia forum on humanitarian cooperation.
“This forum is not only the evidence of the high level of relations between our countries but also reflection of our peoples` aspiration for expansion of contacts and spiritual life of peoples of Azerbaijan and Russia,” he said.
The participants of the ceremony saw 105 photographs depicting old Baku, national traditions, Novruz festivities.
The pictures highlighted various periods of activity of outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev`s visits to Russia.
The delegation also got familiar with the fine arts and sculptures of Azerbaijan.
