TWO NATIONAL PARKS TO BE ESTABLISHED IN AZERBAIJAN

Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has started working to establish a new Samur-Yalama national park in the north of the country. The Parliament of Azerbaijan Republic has endorsed an agreement between the Government of Azerbaijan and German bank KfW to finance the Samur- Yalama National park project.

The South Caucasus's largest national park Shahdag is scheduled to be established as well.

With these parks, the territories of Azerbaijan under protection will increase from 8% to 12%.
