UN SECRETARY GENERAL`S REPRESENTATIVE MEETS IDPS IN BAKU

Baku, May 20 (AZERTAC). Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Walter Kalin has met with IDPs living in Binagady region of Baku.

Kalin visited IDPs` apartments and talked to them.

IDP Vali Garadaghli said they left their homes 18 years ago and currently live in hard conditions in the wake of Armenian occupation of Azeri lands.

The UN official also visited newly built block for 369 IDP families.

Kalin highly praised conditions that Azerbaijani government created for IDPs.

The residents, in turn, hailed the government`s attention to them.

The UN official here also visited secondary school of Zangilan region.

Director of the school Jabrayil Shikhaliyev responded questions of the UN delegation.
