Undersecretary of Romanian Culture Ministry praises relationship with Azerbaijan
Baku, December 8 (AZERTAC). Undersecretary of Romania`s Ministry of Culture Irina Cajal Marin has hailed her country`s relations with Azerbaijan in an interview with the country`s State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC).
“Cooperation and partnership of Azerbaijan with Romania has been really excellent,” said Cajal Marin, who is attending the 8th Session of UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Baku.
“I believe that this cooperation will be intensifying and growing, moving into new dimension, especially because Azerbaijan`s economy is growing.”
She said: “I am very thankful to Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva because under her leadership large scale projects are underway across the world. There is a big collaboration between us.” “I think this cooperation is really good and we are looking forward to continuing this cooperation in new areas.”
Cajal Marin praised Azerbaijan's role in European energy security, saying the country is rich in oil and gas resources, which it would like to export and sell on the international markets.
“So it`s a win situation for Azerbaijan, as well as for the Western Europe and other parts of the world. Pipelines to be built in Azerbaijan will not only make it possible to export it`s natural resources as in the future other neighboring countries rich in oil would be able to benefit from it contributing to the sustainability and energy security of Europe,” she said.
Cajal Marin lauded Azerbaijan`s regional role, saying: “With its increasing income levels, development and partnership with so many countries in the world, I think Azerbaijan has a big role to play in ensuring regional peace and stability.”
The Undersecretary of Romania`s Ministry of Culture also praised the organization of the 8th Session of UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Baku.
“It is really excellent. The session is of great importance. Many issues discussed at the session are really important for participating countries.”
“I also congratulate Azerbaijani people as Chovqan, a traditional Karabakh horse-riding game, was incorporated into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List,” she added.
