18 killed, 30 injured in bus-trailer collision in east Pakistan

At least 18 people were killed and over 30 others injured when a passenger bus hit into a trailer in eastern Pakistan on Wednesday, local Urdu media reported, according to Xinhua.
The ill-fated bus collided with the trailer coming from opposite direction on a major highway in the central part of the country's east Punjab province.
The coach, which was heading toward Mianwali district from Bhakkar district of the province, overturned after the collision which resulted in the large number of casualties.
The injured people, including women and children, were shifted to a nearby hospital, where several of them are said to be in critical condition.
Police said the accident was caused when driver of the speeding coach lost control of the vehicle and hit into the trailer.
Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan due to poorly maintained roads, violation of road safety rules and reckless driving.
Traffic police officials say 90 percent accidents in the country are caused merely by human error.-0-
