80th ANNIVERSARY OF THE TURKISH REPUBLIC CELEBRATED
Opening the function, Director of the center, Milli Majlis member, correspondent member of the National Academy of Sciences Nizami Jafarov said the Turkish Republic, established on ruins of Ottoman Empire is the result of political will of Turkish people. History of Turkey has not been completely studied in Azerbaijan. Due to policy carried out by President Heydar Aliyev, history of independent Turkey has been studied for recent years and this work brought its fruits.
Safarli Nazarli with the report “Heydar Aliyev about Turkish Republic and Ataturk”, and Natiq Mamedli on “Turkish Republic and Turkic republics of Middle Asia” lectured at the conference.
Then speeches were made. It was pointed out that the foundation of the Turkish Republic is an example and historical experience for all Turkic peoples. The 80th anniversary of the Turkish Republic is to be solemnly celebrated not only in Azerbaijan but in other Turkic republics as well.
In conclusion, the conference passed a congratulation letter to the Great National Assembly of Turkey and other official bodies, to people of Turkey.
Milli Majlis members, First Deputy Ambassador of Turkey in Azerbaijan Suat Akgun participated in the function.
