® Nar announces results of 2018

Nar, the youngest mobile operator of Azerbaijan, has reported the achievements of 12 years of its activity, as well as the results of 2018.

Addressing the press conference, CEO of Azerfon Gunnar Pahnke stated that the mobile operator achieved high results in a number of areas during the last year.

By rapidly increasing the number of its base stations and thus having one of the largest networks in the country, Nar installed 170 3G and more than 800 4G stations during 2018. The number of 3G and 4G stations planned for 2018 reached more than 2600 and 1700 respectively. As a result of network expansion, 47 regions of the country are now covered with Nar 4G network. Thanks to provision of high quality mobile internet services through 4G base stations of Nar, the volume of 4G internet traffic grew by 68 percent in comparison with the same period of the last year. The number of the mobile operator’s 4G users also grew by 150 percent and surpassed 500 thousand.

As a result of high quality services and affordable prices, the active subscriber base of Nar grew by 13 percent (when compared to the same period of the last year) and now exceeds 2.2 million. 56 percent of the subscriber base is located in Baku while 44 percent of them reside in the regions. During the past year, number of the smartphone users among Nar subscribers increased by 27 percent. Overall, 38 percent of smartphone users, among Nar subscribers, reside in the regions, while 62 percent of them reside in Baku.

Nar CEO Gunnar Pahnke hailed Nar’s achievements during 2018 and the results of the year: “Our main goal is to reinforce our network in the capital and the regions of Azerbaijan. This year, we are planning to install more than 700 4G base stations. By enhancing our network and offering products that meet our customers’ demands, we have managed to increase our market share by 22 percent”.

During the last year, Nar demonstrated high results in terms of sales. A huge 17 percent increase in the volume of sales is observed when compared to the year 2017. The mobile operator achieved 22 percent increase in the retail sales, and 171 percent increase in remote villages and areas thanks to creation of a mobile sales team. Nar rapidly increases the number of its business partners year by year and the last year was no exception; more than 570 new corporate customers chose Nar.

Thanks to the high quality service provided by Nar, there is a rapid increase in the customer satisfaction level. According to results of several researches, held by independent research companies, during the last 12 months, the customer loyalty index has increased by 45 percent. At the same time, during the past one year period, the mobile internet satisfaction has grown by 16 percent. According to the subscribers’ opinion, Nar is the leader in the area of mobile internet.

During the 2018, mobile operator has presented to subscribers its innovative products, such as “Nar TV”, “Nar MiFi” and “Nar Wi-Fi”, allowing them to get access to high-speed internet at beneficial prices. At the same time, the operator provided those subscribers who travel with advantageous roaming bundles. In addition to that, with “Full” packages, offered by Nar, the subscribers are able to transfer bonuses, accumulated during the month, to the following months or exchange the remaining bonuses by using the “Exchange” service.

“Azerfon” LLC (“Nar” brand) has started its operations on March 21, 2007, and within a short period of time became one of the leading companies of the telecommunications and mobile communication industry of Azerbaijan. The “Nar” brand name was selected as the symbol that resembles the cohesion of the rich cultural and historical heritage of Azerbaijan with the modern life.
