AGERPRES highlights Azerbaijan`s state independence history

Bucharest, October 19, AZERTAC
Romanian national news agency AGERPRES has published an article highlighting the 25th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan`s state independence. The publication was initiated by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Bucharest. The article says Azerbaijan adopted its Constitutional Act on State Independence on October 18, 1991.
The article touches upon the occupation of 20 per cent of Azerbaijan’s lands and the emergence of one million refugees and IDPs in the wake of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The article hails the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in saving Azerbaijan from civil war and collapse in the first years of independence.
“National leader Heydar Aliyev's political course is continued by President Ilham Aliyev. And today Azerbaijan is one of the most rapidly developing countries.”
The article also provides an insight into the economic development of Azerbaijan, as well as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, TAP and TANAP projects.
