A council for combat against corruption has been formed under President of Russia. Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of Russia Mikhail was elected as the Council’s chairman.

The sitting of the Council for fighting corruption presided by President Vladimir Putin focused on main priorities of combat against corruption.

In the course of the sitting, Vladimir Putin stood for public control over the power and ordered the Council to develop bills on this issue and submit concrete proposals a legislative initiative and laws should have accurate and clear requirements and mechanisms of application. Putin noted that anti-corruption efforts in Russia are not effective.

It was decided at the sitting to form two commissions under the Council – for counteraction against corruption headed by vice-premier B. Aleshin and for settlement of interests conflict headed by the first deputy head of Presidential Administration D. Kozak.
