ANWAR CHOWDHRY TENTH INTERNATIONAL BOXING TOURNAMENT STARTS IN BAKU
The opening ceremony was addressed by Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov. He greeted the athletes and stressed the importance of the tenth tournament.
President of the International Amateur Boxing Association Anwar Chowdhry expressed his gratitude to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for creating all conditions to stage such international competitions in Azerbaijan.
The tournament brought together some 150 boxers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Turkey, China, Thailand, Jordan, Tunis, Egypt, Qatar, Morocco, Pakistan, Iran, Guinea. The five-day tournament gathered world, European and Olympic champions. National team of Azerbaijan is led by senior coaches Mammad Eyvazov and Vagif Kazimov.
The final bouts will take place April 2.
