Atalanta announce Gasperini contract extension

Atalanta President Luca Percassi announced that coach Gian Piero Gasperini has already signed a new contract until 2024, with option to extend until June 2025, according to Football Italia.
He is already an unusually long-running tactician for Serie A standards, having taken over in June 2016.
His current deal was meant to expire at the end of the current campaign, sparking speculation he could be poached for the Premier League or a bigger traditional Serie A side.
However, having taken Atalanta from relegation strugglers to regular Champions League participants for three years running, Gasp is committed to life in Bergamo.
Gasperini has 259 competitive games on the Atalanta bench, overseeing 136 wins, 65 draws and 57 defeats.
