AZERBAIJAN AND KIRGHIZSTAN SIGNED AGREEMENT ON FREE TRADE
For Azerbaijan, the document was signed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Ramiz Rizayev and for Kirghiz side - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kirghizstan to the Russian Federation Kemelbek Nanayev.
Upon completion of the signing ceremony, R. Rizayev said that it is impossible to establish any economic relations between the states without such kind of documents and this agreement opens up possibilities towards establishing this kind of relations and integrating into all sectors of economic activity. “This agreement will allow to drastically increasing the commodity turnover between Azerbaijan and Kirghizstan as it creates a real preferential regime”, - R. Rizayev concluded.
Ambassador of Kirghizstan to RF Kemelbek Nanayev noted that both fraternal and friendly peoples had been always longing for strengthening relations including economic sphere. “The signed agreement on free trade is a base for development of commercial and economic relations. We deem that it will be a great stimulus and create a new base for strengthening of our friendly relations,” – K. Nanayev stressed.
The agreement stipulates the favorable trade treatment between Azerbaijan and Kirghizstan, which allow increasing the commodity turnover between the two countries, AzerTAj correspondent said.
The turnover between Azerbaijan and Kirghizstan has come to $782,3 thousand (export- $645,4 thousand, import – $136,9 thousand) for January-November 2003. Mainly, incandescent lamps are mainly imported from Kirghizstan, while from Azerbaijan to Kirghizstan – aviation kerosene, polyethylene, hydrate of sodium and agricultural products.
