Azerbaijan Constitutional Court`s delegation visits Slovakia
Baku, May 2 (AZERTAC). Chairman of Azerbaijan Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev and his accompanying delegation has been in Slovakia for official visit on April 26-29 at the invitation of Chairwoman of Slovak Constitutional Court Ivetta Macejkova.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation met Chairman of Slovak Parliament, Ombudsman, Chairwoman and judges of the Constitutional Court. The delegation was also received by Slovak President.
During a meeting with Chairman of Parliament Richard Sulík, the talks focused on relations between parliament and Constitutional Court, judicial reforms and other issues.
The delegation members met Ombudsman Pavel Kandrac to exchange views on the inquiries he sent to the Constitutional Court on protection of human rights and freedoms reflected in Constitution.
Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic expressed his deep respect to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He underlined the necessity of development of judicial cooperation between the two countries. The President also inquired about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and activity of the OSCE Minsk Group. President Gasparovic added his country supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
