AZERBAIJAN DRAW 1-1 WITH KAZAKHSTAN IN EURO 2008 QUALIFYING ROUND
In the 3rd and 6th minutes, Azerbaijan’s Leandro Gomes wasted fine opportunities to hand his team an early lead, with Vaqif Javadov also missing his chance in the 13th minute.
Andre Luis Ladaqa gave Azerbaijan a sixteenth minute lead.
But Kazakhstan’s Dimitri Byakov equalized 20 minutes later.
Azeri forwards could score the second goal after the restart too, but they wasted their opportunities.
The return match will be played in Astana June 6, 2007.
Azerbaijan lost 1-0 to Serbia in Belgrade in their first match of the qualifying round, while Kazakhstan were held to a 0-0 draw by Belgium in Brussels.
Azerbaijan will play their next match with Portugal in Lisbon on October 7.
