AZERBAIJAN, FRANCE: COOPOERATION EXPANDING
The Minister greeting the guests said that successive meetings promote stabilization of our cooperation and we are expanding this cooperation.
Ambassador Chantal Poiret presented the newly appointed military attachй, stressing that France stands ready to develop the French-Azerbaijani cooperation, spoke of similar position of France and Azerbaijan in combat against terrorism, on the efforts his country makes for resolution to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The military attachй, colonel-lieutenant Jean Mark Babue said he would do his best to develop military cooperation between the two countries.
Defense minister of Azerbaijan Safar Abiyev congratulated the attachй, wished him success in his new mission. Colonel-general Safar Abiyev and the guest had exchange on socio-political situation in the Caucasus, on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation. He said that the point we are concerned is that the world community, including France, do not call Armenia as an aggressor state. France, as one of the OSCE co-chairs has promised that would assist resolution of the problem. We wait this assistance. But how long should we wait? The people of Azerbaijan cannot wait any long. They say the issue should find its objective solution. From the objective point of view, Armenia is an aggressor. And it should be stated.
Then, the parties had a comprehensive exchange of view on military cooperation between Azerbaijan and France.
Defense minister Safar Abiyev recommended the military attachй of France to deeply study the existent situation in the Caucasus region, the ongoing processes.
