Azerbaijan, France discuss energy cooperation

Paris. September 16 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev has met French Energy, Industry and Digital Economy Minister Eric Besson in Paris.

The two ministers discussed prospects for boosting the relations between Azerbaijan and France in oil, gas and industry.

Besson praised his country`s energy cooperation with Azerbaijan.

He lauded Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring European energy security.

The French minister also expressed French companies` keenness in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of satellite information and communication technology.

Aliyev said Azerbaijan was interested in developing the cooperation with France both in energy and in non-oil sector, especially in industry and alternative energy.

Aliyev noted that results of successful research achieved last week by French companies Total and Gas de France in conjunction with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, SOCAR, will open a new page in cooperation between Azerbaijan and France in the energy field.
