Azerbaijan, IGAD member countries of Africa explore prospects for cooperation

Yalchin Rafiyev, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, met with Workneh Gebeyehu Negewo, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), a regional organization comprising eight countries in the Horn of Africa.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IGAD member countries within bilateral and international platforms. They emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits and institutional mechanisms in maintaining continuous political dialogue.
The parties also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and IGAD in the fields of politics, economy, education, healthcare, climate action, public services, transport, and communications, as well as on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
