After the official visit of the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Paris, the foreign ministry of France disseminated a statement whereby it says that Azerbaijan is an important and reliable partner of France, AzerTAj correspondent reports from Paris.

The official Paris supports Azerbaijan in construction of legal and democratic state and realization of the obligations Azerbaijan took before the Council of Europe, the statement stresses.

France is the third partner of Azerbaijan for volume of trade turnover. In 2003, trade turnover between France and Azerbaijan tripled and reached 110 million Euros.

After the meeting of the French President Jacques Chirak and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on 23 January, the sides had exchange of strengthening of the bilateral relations, on settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh problem.

The Statement also emphasizes that France in the frame of OSCE Minsk Group stands ready to further boost the efforts of Azerbaijan and Armenia to remove the conflict.
