A ceremony dedicated to the tenth anniversary Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Friendship Society took place on November 5 in the “Gulustan” Palace, Baku. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Andar Shukputov noted that ties of friendship and fraternity based on the common culture, traditions, ethnic roots and longstanding history of political and economic ties had always linked the countries. He said that in the course of mutual visits of Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Heydar Aliyev a foundation of cooperation between the two countries in new geo-politic conditions was laid.

Touching upon 15 October presidential elections ambassador noted that Azerbaijan people showed wisdom by voting for stability, development and continuation of pursued policy. They are confident in Kazakhstan that President Ilham Aliyev will justify faith of citizens of Azerbaijan.

Ambassador noted the Mendekhanovs family residing in the Jambul province of Kazakhstan named their son born on October 15 Ilham in honor of new president of Azerbaijan. He informed the participants of the letter addressed to Ilham Aliyev.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Friendship Society stressed that Kazakhstan’s joining Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline will further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries. He presented society’s honorable diplomas to group of persons for their contribution to development of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations.

The official part of ceremony was followed by concerts of the masters of art.

The ceremony was attended by chief of international relations department of the President’s Office Novruz Mammadov.
