Azerbaijan May Supply 8 Million Tons of Crude A Year To Ukraine
Baku, December 10 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan may increase the annual amount of oil supplied to Ukraine to eight million tons, up from five million tons forecasted before for pumping via the Odesa - Brody pipeline, Fuel and Energy Minister Yurii Boiko has announced in an interview with Uriadovyi Kurier governmental newspaper, AZERTAC quoted the Ukrainian news agency as saying.
"Azerbaijan is proposing to supply up to eight million tons of oil to Ukraine in the direct mode," he said.
The minister added, operation profitability of the Odesa - Brody pipeline would be achieved if pump at least 10 million tons of crude a year.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Azeri Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev in late November said Azerbaijan might supply Ukraine with 5 million tons of crude oil a year.
Azerbaijan supplied more than 1 million tons of crude oil and over 160,000 tons of petroleum products to Ukraine over the nine months of 2010.
