AZERBAIJAN OPEN TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP LAUNCHED
In their opening speeches, Ismayil Ismayilov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Fizuli Musayev, the first Vice-President of Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation told of the government's care for development of all kinds of sports, including taekwondo.
The leadership of Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation handed over the gifts to Ismayil Ismayilov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Lu Kwang Jo, adviser Ambassador of Korea to Azerbaijan and coaches of the teams, who arrived in the country to partake in the event.
Over 100 athletes from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Belarus, Cyprus, Moldova, Israel, Poland and Estonia will compete for prizes in 8 weight classes.
Winners in 4 weight classes have been announced on the first day of the competition. Fagan Umudov
(80 kg, Azerbaijan), Aslanbaey Dzetiyev (68kg, Russia), Shahrun Yusifova (49 kg, Azerbaijan), Katazina Kalinovskaya (67 kg, Poland) took the first places.
