Azerbaijan, Pakistan mark 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations

On June 9, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event and exhibition on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the ambassador and staff of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as a delegation of the Pakistan National Defense University.
The event started with the national anthems of both countries.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov noted that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize the Republic of Azerbaijan after the restoration of its independence. Noting the development of relations between the two countries in various fields, including political, economic, trade, military and others, the deputy minister emphasized with satisfaction the strategic partnership between the two countries. The deputy minister noted with gratitude that Pakistan provided political support to Azerbaijan during the period of the former Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, the 44-day Patriotic war, as well as during the post-conflict period. Confidence was expressed that relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries will further develop in the future.
Speaking later, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee said that relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have common historical, religious and cultural roots. The ambassador stressed that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has always fully supported the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of the internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Noting that there is fruitful cooperation between the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, Ambassador Bilal Hayee expressed confidence in the further development of relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in various fields, and conveyed his sincere congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
At the end of the event, the participants got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
