Today, you also visited the grave of President Heydar Aliyev. We are grateful to you for this attention.

The present time of Azerbaijan history is closely connected with the life and activity of Heydar Aliyev. He is fairly considered the founder of modern Azerbaijan. Coming to power again in 1993, Heydar Aliyev saved Azerbaijan from chaos and dismembering, and turned it to a strong, dynamically developing state, internal part of the Turkic world, as well as made known over the world. Heydar Aliyev played a great role in strengthening of the sense of Turkic, in development of the relations with Turkey and other countries. Of course, we know that we are enough mature people and we know that nothing in the world, including the life of man is endless. Therefore, along with this great sorrow, we are looking forward to morrow and are confident that Azerbaijan will go just by the path defined by Heydar Aliyev and see Turkey besides it as ever. We should further make efforts to develop and enhance our relations, improve the welfare of our peoples, jointly solve our existent problems. The Turkish-Azerbaijani fraternity should survive and will survive”.

Today I visited his grave and prayed to Allah to rest his soul. I express my condolence to the people of Azerbaijan and the entire Turkic world, and share your sorrow. Heydar Aliyev did a lot to bring closer our countries. His contributions are unforgettable. Heydar Aliyev left traces in out hearts. His course should be continued. The Turkish peoples are brother and friend. This friendship and fraternity should develop and widen. We should do our best for this goal and try more efficiently. The goal of this visit is to have appropriate consultations, too. Turkey, as ever, is with Azerbaijan and will never turn form this way”.
