Azerbaijan, UK discuss energy partnership

Azerbaijan`s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with Duncan Norman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan.
The meeting highlighted the development of Azerbaijan-UK relations and the expansion of energy partnership from the oil and gas sector to clean energy, decarbonization and electricity interconnections.
The Jabrayil solar project with bp and the electrification of oil and gas infrastructure were highlighted as key examples of the new energy partnership. The meeting also focused on green energy corridors and interconnectors, including the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor and opportunities for British companies to participate.
The parties hailed cooperation under the clean energy transition MoU, including reciprocal visits and information exchange. They also discussed preparations for the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and agreed to further expand Azerbaijan-UK cooperation in energy, trade and investment through new projects.
