As part of their media tour of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijani media representatives familiarized themselves with the operations of IT Park Uzbekistan.
During the tour, the journalists were briefed on Uzbekistan’s policies aimed at fostering the digital economy, creating a favorable ecosystem for technology companies and startups, training qualified IT specialists, attracting foreign investment, as well as supporting the export of digital services and innovative entrepreneurship.
Azamat Rakhmon-Zoda, Foreign Direct Investment and Company Relations Manager at IT Park Uzbekistan, noted that the Park collaborates with IT companies from 104 countries worldwide, including Azerbaijan. According to him, IT Park Uzbekistan operates 14 regional branches and six international representative offices. The ecosystem encompasses nearly 3,800 technology companies in total, including more than 1,000 export-oriented companies and over 1,000 foreign entities.

A total of 145 IT universities with more than 129,000 students operate in Uzbekistan, while over 500 IT centers train more than 55,000 graduates annually. Additionally, more than 2 million people have completed training under the “One Million Uzbek Coders” program. Uzbekistan also reimburses up to 100 percent of the cost of obtaining international IT certificates.
The Uzbek state places particular emphasis on developing the startup ecosystem, whose total valuation exceeds $4.3 billion. The country is home to more than 1,600 startups and two “unicorn” companies. Uzbekistan hosts three international startup competitions annually, with a total prize fund of $11 million. The ecosystem also includes 22 funds with combined capital exceeding $200 million.
The presentation highlighted that Uzbek technology companies provide digital services worth approximately $2.8 billion and export services worth more than $1 billion to over 100 countries.
The presentation also focused on the digital transformation of public administration. Under the “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” strategy, more than 3,300 digital projects have been implemented. In addition, 160 types of certificates and documents have been abolished, while more than 150 licenses and permits can be obtained online.
Moreover, Uzbekistan offers more than 800 electronic government services. In 2025 alone, these services were accessed more than 42 million times. The national services portal has more than 15 million users and integrates over 900 systems.
The Azerbaijani journalists also familiarized themselves with Uzbekistan’s technological infrastructure, the development of digital services, and the conditions created for foreign IT companies and investors. Uzbekistan views the digital economy and IT sector as key drivers of economic growth, job creation, export expansion, and the country’s integration into the global technological ecosystem.
