New York hosts discussions on Azerbaijani diaspora’s activities

As part of his visit to New York, US, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora, held several bilateral meetings focusing on the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
The visit included meetings with Sam Kliger, Founder and CEO of the Research Institute for New Americans (RINA); Yakov Abramov, head of the Cultural Center of Caucasian Jews; as well as members of the New York State Assembly, Michael Novakhov and Alec Brook-Krasny.
The meeting with Sam Kliger highlighted the role of the Azerbaijani diaspora in fostering Azerbaijan-US relations and explored opportunities for greater sharing of expertise between the Azerbaijani diaspora and RINA.
The meeting with Yakov Abramov highlighted the efforts of the Cultural Center of Caucasian Jews to preserve and promote the cultural and historical heritage of Caucasian and Azerbaijani Jews. The sides also discussed Azerbaijan’s traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance, as well as the ongoing large-scale restoration efforts in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and efforts to ensure lasting peace in the South Caucasus. They also discussed the talks between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and the United States on accelerating the TRIPP project.
The meetings with members of the New York State Assembly focused on the active involvement of the Azerbaijani community in the social, cultural, and economic life of New York. The sides expressed their willingness to advance cooperation in culture, education, and youth affairs. The meetings also underscored the Azerbaijani diaspora’s contribution to promoting Azerbaijan’s historical and cultural heritage, the values of multiculturalism and tolerance, as well as the country’s peace and cooperation agenda among local and international communities.
