AZERBAIJANI JUDOISTS RANK FIRST IN TEAM EVENT
The last day, the winners in seven weight classes were named. In men’s section, the winners are Azerbaijani judoist Mehman Azizov (81 kg), Georgian athletes Georgiy Mamlikashvili (90 kg), Levan Jorjoliani (100 kg) and Georgi Kizilashvili (over 100 kg) while Ukrainina judoists Svetlana Shepulani (70 kg), Anastasiya Matrosova (78 kg) and Marina Profofiyeva (over 78 kg) became the winners in women’s section. Azerbaijani athlete Zaur Bagirov (100 kg) snatched the bronze.
Azerbaijani judoists Kifayet Gasimova (57 kg), Ramil Gasimov (66 kg) and Elmeddin Ahmedov (73 kg) claimed the title on the first day.
Sima Huseynova (48 kg), Kemale Huseynzadeh (63 kg) and Ravil Guliyev (60 kg) took the third places.
In the team event, Azerbaijani judoists ranked first for a number of medals gained.
There were 180 judoists competing in the competition in 14 weight classes.
