Azerbaijani karate fighter Rafael Aghayev becomes 11-time European champion

Azerbaijani karate fighter Rafael Aghayev has become an 11-time European champion as he claimed on to the winner`s rostrum in the 53rd EKF Senior Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia.
Aghayev, also a 5-time world champion, secured the medal after defeating a Hungarian rival in the 75kg weight class.
The event in Novi Sad is the biggest continental championship ever organized in Europe with more than 650 karate fighters competing as members of 52 national teams.
