Azerbaijani national leader`s memory honored in London
Baku, May 9 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s embassy in London has organized an event to commemorate the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations in the UK.
Speaking at the event, ambassador Fakhraddin Gurbanov briefed the participants on the national leader`s role to protect the Azerbaijani statehood and strengthen the country`s independence.
The diplomat noted only national leader delivered Azerbaijan`s realities to the world community when he came to power again in 1993.
He also underlined thanks to Heydar Aliyev`s forward-looking policy Azerbaijan became a leading country in the region.
Gurbanov added President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the national leader`s policy.
The event participants saw a documentary on lifetime and activity of the national leader.
