Azerbaijani ombudsperson meets Council of Europe official
Baku, April 22 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani commissioner for human rights (Ombudsperson) Elmira Suleymanova met the Council of Europe`s program adviser on media Leyla Dervisagic.
The ombudsperson said Azerbaijan fulfilled its obligations concerning human rights before the Council of Europe. Suleymanova said establishment of Ombudsman Office in Azerbaijan was one of the important obligations from the Council of Europe.
Dervisagic described the Ombudsman Office as a “significant partner” for the Council of Europe.
Suleymanova said the Ombudsman Office “actively” participates in projects of the Council of Europe and the European Union, including Twinning and Eastern Partnership program.
