Azerbaijani, Slovakian legislative authorities explore cooperation

Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with the Ambassador of Slovakia to the country Elchin Gasimov.
Sahiba Gafarova congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his future endeavours.
During the meeting, Sahiba Gafarova hailed the relations between the two countries. She noted that the "Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Slovak Republic" signed as part of the visit of Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico to the country has elevated the relations to a qualitatively new level. The speaker lauded intensive reciprocal visits between the two countries, as well their contribution to boosting relations.
The meeting also focused on development of relations between the two countries’ legislative authorities. The positive impact of reciprocal visits of Speakers of parliaments and MPs on further expanding relations between the legislative authorities was also emphasized.
The sides reviewed the possibilities of enhancing cooperation between the parliaments in all areas, including through committees.
