Azerbaijani wrestlers take 14 medals at Kiev tournament

Baku, February 26, AZERTAC

Azerbaijani wrestlers have claimed 14 medals, including nine golds at the 12th Outstanding Ukrainian Wrestlers and Coaches Memorial in Kiev.

Azerbaijan’s gold medals came from Greco-Roman wrestlers Eldaniz Azizli (55kg), Murad Mammadov (60kg), Taleh Mammadov (63kg) and Rafig Huseynov (82kg), as well as freestyle athletes Giorgi Edisherashvili (57kg), Ahmadnabi Gvarzatilov (61kg), Sharif Sharifov (92 kg) and Nurmahammad Hajiyev (97kg).

Tatyana Omelchenko became the winner of the tournament in the women`s 62kg weight category.

The tournament brought together nearly 500 wrestlers from 37 countries.
