AZERBAIJAN`S AGRICULTURE MINISTER MEETS IFAD PRESIDENT
Baku, June 22 (AZERTAC). Agriculture Minister of Azerbaijan Ismet Abasov met with visiting President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Kanayo F. Nwanze
Abasov said Azerbaijan and IFAD had cooperated since 1997. He pointed out IFAD-implemented projects help improve the welfare of population in rural districts.
The Minister noted Azerbaijan`s agriculture has developed much thanks to the efforts of the country`s leadership.
Nwanze said Azerbaijan can be cited as an example for other countries. According to him, IFAD is keen on expanding cooperation with the country. IFAD has to dated funded four projects and programs worth USD 48.1 million.
IFAD President said the rural development project worth $100 million to be funded by the Islamic Development Bank is being prepared.
