Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sports meets UNICEF Regional Director

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov has met UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Afshan Khan.
Mr. Rahimov spoke of the state youth policy founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. The Minister highlighted the state programs carried out in the country, saying these programs created a favorable condition for active participation of youth in the socio-political life of Azerbaijan.
He touched upon the achievements gained by the Azerbaijani youth in the field of sports in the international tournaments.
Afshan Khan, in turn, stressed the importance of the events held in Azerbaijan and emphasized the significance of enhancing the activity of the Youth houses operating in the country. She noted UNESCO actively supports the events held in the country and the Organization is interested in developing cooperation in this regard.
