Azerbaijan`s Naiditsch to compete in Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival

Azerbaijani grandmaster Arkadij Naiditsch will compete in the Tradewise Gibraltar Chess Festival 2016 from January 25 to February 5.

The rest of the top ten is comprised only by players in the 2700 rating bracket - Pentala Harikrishna, Chao Li, Yangyi Yi, Dimitry Jakovenko, Radoslaw Wojtaszek, Richard Rapport and Laurent Fressinet.

The Swiss system tournament will feature 10 rounds, bringing together 249 chess players, including 93 grandmasters.

The festival is split into three tournaments - Masters, Challengers and Amateurs.

Rate of play: 40 moves in 100 minutes plus 20 moves in 50 minutes plus 15 minutes for all remaining moves with 30 seconds per move added from the start.

The prize fund is 185 000 euro, with 20 000 going to the winner of the Masters event.
