Azerbaijan’s Presidential Representative meets with CICA Secretary General

Khalaf Khalafov, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Special Assignments, met with Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), in Baku.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on issues related to the agenda of Azerbaijan’s current chairmanship of CICA.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the establishment of the Partnership Network of Leading Universities, the CICA Women Council, and the CICA Finance Summit at Azerbaijan’s initiative, as well as the large-scale activities carried out in the fields of economic cooperation, climate sustainability, water security, women’s empowerment, youth, education, media, tourism, transport and logistics. The sides also noted Azerbaijan’s significant contribution to strengthening the organization and advancing its development.
The meeting also emphasized CICA’s important role in strengthening cooperation and promoting peace, security, stability, and sustainable development both in the region and globally.
Khalaf Khalafov noted that the CICA Summit, which will be held this year during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship, will play an important role in strengthening mutual understanding and confidence among member states.
