AZERI BOXERS SUCCEED IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
11-strong Azerbaijan national team led by chief coach Mammad Eyvazov is competing in the European Boxing Championship in Plovdiv (Bulgaria).
Jeyhun Abiyev (48kg) beat Anton Bekesh (Belarus) and Mahammad Nasir ( Wales). Romal Amanov ( 60kg) crushed Bulragian Samet Huseynov, while Emil Maharramov (64kg) Slovakian Pavel Hlvaki.
In the heavy weight event, Elchin Alizade (91kg) defeated Victor Lukashi, Czechia while Emil Karimov (over 91kg) Netherland boxer Joy Chanasiya.
The final bouts of the championship will take place July 23.
