Azeri Eurovision-2011 winners receive Person of the Year award
Baku, February 7 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Eurovision winning duo Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal have received the Person of the Year award of the Chingiz Mustafayev Foundation and ANS Group of Companies.
Speaking to the award-giving ceremony, Mirshahin Agayev, ANS Group of Companies` vice-president, said Eldar and Nigar were honored for winning the Eurovision song contest and promoting Azerbaijan on the global scale.
The Eurovision winners thanked the Chingiz Mustafayev Foundation and ANS Group of Companies for the award.
The ceremony featured a video clip dedicated to the Azeri duo`s triumphant performance in Dusseldorf.
Eldar and Nigar also received AZN4000 each and Raymond Weil watches.
Azerbaijan was crowned the winner of last year's Eurovision Song Contest in Germany, with Eldar and Nigar duo scoring 221 points with their love song, Running Scared.
The Eurovision 2012 semi-final rounds will be held in Baku on May 22-24, and the final on May 26. The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Baku Crystal Hall, which is under construction near the National Flag Square.
