Azeri MP meets UN Deputy Secretary General
Baku, May 31 (AZERTAC). Azeri parliamentarian Ganira Pashayeva has met with Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Asha-Rose Migiro on the sidelines of the UNESCO women leaders` conference in Haifa, Israel.
Pashayeva briefed the UN official on crimes, terrorist acts and genocides against Azerbaijanis committed by Armenia. She handed over to the UN Secretary General materials featuring destruction of Azeri historical, cultural and religious monuments, cemeteries belonging to the Azerbaijani people in occupied territories, noting over a million Azerbaijanis have lived as refugees and IDPs over the last 15 years.
The Azeri MP stressed the importance of Armenia`s honoring four UN Security Council resolutions and that rights of refugees and IDPs must be reinstated.
In her turn, Migiro noted UN leadership would step up efforts to solve problems of refugees.
