AZERI POLITICAL PARTIES AGAINST US ALLOCATION TO NAGORNO-KARABAKH REGIME
Baku, 15 December (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s political parties represented in the Parliament have sent a letter to the US embassy in Baku after the country`s Congress revealed plans to allocate in 2010 a financial assistance to Armenia and separatist Nagorno-Karabakh regime.
The letter says: “When making financial assistance to any country, the Congress must take into consideration democratic conventions and agreements which the United States had joined.”
“Allocating $41 million and $8 million to Armenia and the so-called Nagorno-Karabakh regime respectively is what undermines the international reputation of the United States, which is considered the leading advocate of democracy around the globe,” the letter notes.
