Azeri Speaker meets EP members
Baku, February 10 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Partliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov has met members of the European Parliament Ivo Vajgz and Pino Arlacchi.
Asadov said Azerbaijan placed particular importance on expanding relations with the European Parliament.
“Integrating into the European structures is among key priorities for President Ilham Aliyev.”
The Speaker praised the Azerbaijan-EP relations, saying it achieved the level of mutual cooperation.
Asadov touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, expressing hope the European Parliament would demonstrate an unbiased position.
The EP members said the Parliament was closely watching the processes taking place in the Southern Caucasian region. They said the European Parliament was interested in continuing cooperation with Azerbaijan and assisting the country in its European integration.
